Blue Guru Games launched in 2021 as an independent studio backed by LeoVentures (LeoVegas Group’s investment arm), headquartered in Malta with offices in the UK, Estonia, and Australia. The company had about 30 employees and was led by experienced iGaming professionals. Their whole philosophy centered on weaving stories from mythology, history, and quirky tales into their slots – they styled themselves as the “Ben & Jerry’s of iGaming,” creating “games for grown-ups” with engaging backstories.
Their first release was The Nemean Lion in April 2022, featuring a massive 25,000x max win that became an instant hit. Other popular titles included Aussies vs Emus, Otterly Amazing, Napoleon vs Rabbits (based on the real historical event where Napoleon was attacked by rabbits while hunting – seriously), and Terracotta Army. They held an MGA Type 1 gaming license and partnered with Relax Gaming’s Silver Bullet Platform and Oryx BlueHorn for distribution. In late 2024, Blue Guru rebranded to Slammer Studios with new management and mathematicians, marking a fresh chapter. Their games were known for premium graphics, thematic audio, and that focus on quality over quantity – releasing maybe one game every couple months rather than flooding the market. Pretty solid pedigree for such a young studio.
